Writing & Resources

Articles and educational material on emotional processing, attachment injury, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.

My writing and educational work focus on the transformation of unresolved attachment injuries — particularly in adults who remain emotionally stuck despite insight or prior therapy. I write primarily for therapists, trainees, and those interested in how emotional change actually occurs in practice. For a structured overview of the model, see my long-form guide on Emotion-Focused Therapy. All articles are written by Aaron Lerch, Clinical Psychologist and certified EFT Supervisor (ISEFT).

Felt Safety in Therapy: The Precondition for Attachment Work

Teaching Emotion-Focused Therapy: Clinical Precision Over Surface Technique

A reflection on training therapists to work precisely with unresolved emotional injuries — including recognising emotional markers that guide intervention, directing process toward transformation, and developing the experiential capacity to stay with difficult emotion rather than explaining it.

Educational Projects

My educational work supports therapists in developing precision when working with unresolved attachment injuries — with particular emphasis on marker clarity, emotional transformation, and experiential depth.

I developed EFTSkills — training and resources for EFT therapists, a platform offering resources for therapists practising Emotion-Focused Therapy. The EFT Skills and Wisdom card decks distil core EFT concepts, interventions, and therapeutic postures into tools that help therapists work more accurately with unfinished emotional business — in session, in supervision, and in self-directed learning.

A structured learning platform for therapists practising Emotion-Focused Therapy — developed in consultation with Dr. Leslie Greenberg, founder of EFT.
